Contemporary
Contemporary interior design style is very modern and sleek. It places importance on minimalism and functionality, and usually highlights neutral colors such as gray, beige, and various shades of white.

Modern farmhouse combines the rustic, cozy farmhouse style and adds certain streamlined modern elements to it. It highlights the juxtaposition between natural and man-made elements. The modern farmhouse style emphasizes comfortable and casual living and should give off a very carefree vibe.
The modern farmhouse sofa is typically white or gray, with soft rounded edges. This sofa may be on the floor or raised with short thick legs. The modern farmhouse sofa should be extremely plush and comfortable, and make you want to snuggle up on it for the house. Sectional style sofas fit very well in the modern farmhouse design style.
Scandinavian
Originating from the Nordic region, Scandinavian design is all about simplicity and minimalism. You will typically find a Scandinavian room sporting white walls, light natural wood and minimal to no décor that doesn’t serve a functional purpose.
A Scandinavian style sofa is extremely simple and neutral in color. It is usually made of a linen material, and not very large. Scandinavian sofas can either be raised with thin legs, or on the floor. Thick short legs do not fit in the Scandinavian style. The armrests will most likely be square, or there may be no armrests at all.
Bohemian
The bohemian style is fun, loud, and eclectic. Often portrayed as a lighthearted display of color, texture, and pattern. Bohemian style is very busy and should appear as if you decorated your home with items discovered on your worldly travels. Bohemian style leans strongly towards natural elements and bright color.
A bohemian sofa can typically be anything you want it to be. Bright, loud colors are very common, but neutrals also work. When designing in the bohemian style, purchase a sofa that you absolutely love and play with adding different textures and colors on top of it with throw blankets and pillows.
Mid-Century Modern
Mid-Century Modern is an American design style that roughly represents the most popular styles from the 40s-70s. MCM is currently making a huge comeback in America, and for good reason! This style is fun, unique, and visually interesting. Dark wood is very popular in MCM designs and is often accompanied by other materials such as metal, vinyl, or glass.
Leather is a very popular fabric among MCM designs. Your MCM couch could be a neutral color or rich saturated color. Deep yellows, oranges, and teals are very commonly used in MCM designs. An MCM sofa will almost definitely be raised with thin wooden or metal legs, usually set on an angle.
